Get Preapproved & Then Go House Hunting, CTAfter you decide that you are ready to start looking for a home, it is very important to get preapproved or prequalifed through a local reputable bank or mortgage broker. They will not only looking at the money you have to put down, the money you earn every month from your job, and also looking at the amount of money that you currently have to pay on a monthly basis (things like car & student loans), and then should give you a figure on how much they think you can afford to borrow, if you can borrow at all (depending on credit and other things). Once you look at your budget, then you should have an idea on seeing what you can afford to spend. There is no point at looking at properties that you can not afford, according to your bank or after looking over your personal budget. Once you get your budget set, then I can set you up on a program that automatically notifies you of new listings, price & status changes in your price range & matching most of your 'must have' list for your new townhome or condo. In the Danbury area, it is customary to submit the preapproval letter with an offer.
